Gender Baby Scan

Gender baby scans are exciting! The discovery journey for a mum and her family or partner always gives a sense of joy and elation. Gender baby scans are also possible to do and then reveal the gender at a later date to keep it as a surprise. One can do this by purchasing gender reveal items such as balloons, confetti canons and scratch cards to enjoy a surprise with friends and family. Our gender baby scans in Liverpool are available from 16 - 23 weeks. This is an ultrasound baby scan which will:

  • Provide a fetal wellbeing check

  • Confirm and visualise the heart beat

  • Detect any fetal abnormalities

  • Check the position of the baby and placenta

  • Check vital organs and limbs

  • Reveal the gender (if desired in clinic)

  • Take key measurements

  • Estimate fetal weight

If anything is identified in your gender baby scan which needs further attention, our sonographer will explain this to you and support you in obtaining further care.

Please note that while gender baby scans are highly accurate, ultrasound alone cannot provide 100% accuracy of the gender of the baby. If your baby’s position is not favourable for a gender baby scan, we may ask you to take a short walk before rescanning and assessing the position, or we will offer you a free rescan at a later date.

What’s included:

20 minute appointment with our qualified diagnostic sonographer to help determine the gender of your baby and to examine the wellbeing of mum and the baby. Of which, 8-15 minutes of scanning time (length of scan depends on the position of the baby).
